Drink Up

Many people including me doesn’t know that drinking a glass of water first thing in the morning will help flush out all the toxins that our body was processing the night before. This is also a kick start to our day, waking us up, giving us energy and hydrating our body. But many have also stated that the benefit of drinking water in large amounts is to produce skin that is healthy and young looking. Drinking minimum water requirement of eight large glasses a day can be difficult to follow especially if we are not at home all the time. But remember that the water does not have to be in the form of distilled water or bottled water. Water to hydrate the body can be obtain from eating water-rich fruits such as melons, vegetables and other food. Beverages such as milk, juices, herbal tea also contribute to the daily water intake total. However, is drinking several of water daily essential for healthy skin care? As mentioned (to a skin care seminar that I’ve attended a couple of weeks ago), the moisture level of skin is not determined by internal factors. Instead, it is external factors such as skin cleansing, environment and the functioning of oil-producing glands that determines how dry the skin is or will become. It appears that there is no significant benefit of drinking water to cure or prevent dry skin.

The bottom line is whatever the means (weather drinking lots of water has something to do or nothing to do with skin improvement); I think we must consistently hydrate ourselves, drink lots of water or at least 8 glasses a day. It’s not only for the skin that the water can be beneficial but as well as for overall good health.
